About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at Cineworld Cinemas Ltd. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and ensuring the smooth operation of our cinemas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Experience
    • Ensure that all customers receive a high level of service and have a positive experience in our cinemas.
    • Manage and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the cinema, including staff scheduling, deployment, and training.
    • Ensure that all cinema systems, including sound and vision, are functioning correctly and that any issues are promptly resolved.
    • Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the cinema.
  • Team Management
    • Lead and motivate a team of supervisors and customer service assistants to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to help team members achieve their full potential.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage the cinema's controllable P&L, petty cash expenditure, and payroll costs to ensure they are in line with forecasts, targets, and budgets.
    • Minimize fraud, cash, and stock loss within the business and maintain banking controls.
Requirements
  • Essential:
    • Confident communication skills with customers and colleagues.
    • Ability to integrate with the team and demonstrate effective leadership.
    • Adaptable and flexible to changing circumstances.
    • Good organizational skills, effective time management, and ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Resourceful and able to work under pressure.
    • Customer-facing experience, particularly in a retail, leisure, or hospitality environment.
    • Takes initiative and is proactive when working autonomously.
    • Numeracy and literacy skills.
    • IT literate (Microsoft Office suite, industry bespoke software).
    • Available to work at key business times, including evenings and weekends.
    • Flexible on location (able to travel a reasonable distance where applicable).
    • Supervisory or line management experience.
  • Desirable:
    • Local marketing experience.
    • Knowledge of or a willingness to learn about audio-visual presentation.
    • An interest in and knowledge of film and Picturehouse's programming strands.
