Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead our Engineering Department at Accrofab (Alcester) Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and distributing work across resources, managing new product introductions, and leading the Engineering Team to deliver products on time, within budget, and right first time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work Planning and Distribution: Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to plan and distribute work across resources, ensuring efficient use of personnel and equipment.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Manage NPI projects, reporting on First Time Through and Right First Time progress, and coordinating activities to meet nominated commitments.
- Works Orders and Engineering Data: Produce Works Orders, including setting up new Bills of Material, Sales Orders, and routings on Javelin, as well as creating and maintaining comprehensive Engineering data to control and improve Quality, Cost, and Delivery performance.
- Problem Solving and Leadership: Apply 8D, 5 Why, and other problem-solving techniques to support department and company development, and lead the Engineering Team to deliver products on time, within budget, and right first time.
- Commercial Analysis and Support: Support the Bid/No Bid process to ensure alignment of new products with business capability and strategy, and contribute to commercial analysis, testing, and development of company cost and commercial models.
- Team Development and Support: Support training and development of staff, and lead the Engineering Team to deliver products on time, within budget, and right first time.
Requirements:
- Leadership and Management: Demonstrates resilience, accountability, and the ability to retain rational thought under pressure, positively representing the company internally and externally.
- Business Acumen: Focuses on business priorities, delivers results that impact profit, cash, and competitive advantage, and plans, organizes, and communicates in a timely and coherent manner.
- Problem-Solving and Analysis: Approaches problem-solving by identifying root causes, ensures suitable resolution, and compresses timescales in changing circumstances while respecting recognized processes.
- Communication and Teamwork: Creates an environment for and participates in building and sustaining positive working relationships with colleagues, recognizes role within a team, and is accountable for contributing to team results.
- Skills and Experience: Possesses Microsoft Office, ERP Systems, and IT systems skills, including Computer-Aided Engineering Software, and has experience in problem-solving, project management, and up to degree level in an Engineering-related discipline.
