Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Behaviour Mentor and Inclusion Assistant at an 11-18 academy near Gainsborough. This is a full-time, temp-to-permanent position that will commence in September 2024.
About the RoleWe are looking for an exceptional candidate who possesses Behavioural Mentoring experience and a genuine interest in working with students with diverse behavioural and educational needs, including emotional, social, and mental health needs. A caring, flexible, and common-sense approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Work under the guidance of the class teacher and line manager to plan, guide, and monitor students' wellbeing, behaviour for learning, and social skills.
- Supervise activities, assist with the general management of students in school, and provide one-to-one support for targeted students, particularly in lessons where there are barriers to learning.
- Support the Behaviour Policy and be aware of and respond appropriately to individual students' needs.
- Promote positive behaviour management by modelling and suggesting effective strategies with the Isolation Unit.
- Work as part of the Pastoral and Inclusion Team to provide disaffected/vulnerable students with the necessary support.
- Work with individuals or small groups of students on behaviour management, anger management, developing peer relationships, improving self-esteem, and other relevant areas.
- Manage challenging and extreme behaviour of individual students, setting targets for improvement on a daily/weekly basis.
- Support students in a flexible manner on re-integration into the classroom.
