Job Role Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer (Plumber), you will be part of the Facilities Maintenance Team at Government Facility Services Ltd, responsible for the smooth and safe operation of HMP Send, a closed category adult female prison.

Key Responsibilities

- Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will be responsible for maintaining commercial or industrial heating and water systems, adhering to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
- You will have a good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements and be able to implement them effectively.
- Your experience and expertise will be utilised to ensure the delivery of critical and time-bound services to HMPPS.

Requirements

- Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
- Familiarity with and ability to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
- Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems.
- Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
- Relevant certifications, including C&G 6189 Plumbing and domestic heating, C&G 5962 certificate in Plumbing (Advanced craft), C&G 6019 Mechanical Engineering services (plumbing), and EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating.
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
