Senior Underwriter Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Offshore Renewables & Upstream Energy Team in London.

About the Job

In this key role, you will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business to meet business targets encompassing Offshore Renewables and Upstream Energy. You will work closely with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders to develop and maintain strong relationships.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience as an Underwriter, Broker or in Risk Management in the Energy sector and hold ACII qualification or equivalent. They will possess excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to the Offshore Energy Line of Business.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets
  • Negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions with brokers
  • Proactively manage exposure and capacity
  • Underwrite and evaluate capacity aggregations including Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, ensuring an understanding of catastrophe modelling and interpretation of scenarios
  • Support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)

You will also be expected to provide training, developing and coaching of less experienced staff.
