Consultant Psychiatrist - Adult Inpatients Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Clock View Hospital, Liverpool.

The post is for one of four general adult inpatient Consultants at the hospital, responsible for 17 patients on Dee ward, which is a female acute ward.

Clock View Hospital is a purpose-built adult mental health facility that opened in 2015. It has three acute adult wards: Alt (mixed), Dee (female), and Morris (male). The hospital also houses Newton ward, a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and an old age ward, Irwell.

About the Role
  1. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and providing treatment for inpatients on Dee ward.
  2. As part of your duties, you will support staff to manage psychiatric emergencies and provide verbal and written evidence to Mental Health Review Tribunals and Hospital Manager's hearings.
  3. You will participate in Trust risk management processes, including Health Risk Assessment and Management and Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangement Meetings.
  4. Your responsibilities will include maintaining effective communication with other services and providing clinical/educational supervision to junior colleagues.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the medical model at Clock View Hospital and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
Salary and Benefits

This post attracts a competitive salary range of £105,504 - £139,882 per year, plus a 10% R&R payment. You will also be entitled to additional benefits, including a contributory pension scheme and generous annual leave entitlement.
