The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled expert in abdominal wall surgery to join our team as an Abdominal Wall Surgery Expert. This exciting opportunity allows you to apply your knowledge and expertise to develop and implement innovative treatments for complex abdominal wall hernias.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing evidence-based treatments for complex abdominal wall hernias
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop patient pathways and pre-optimisation strategies
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in robotic surgery, anterior and posterior component separation, peritoneal flap hernioplasty, and pre-operative chemical component separation with botulinum toxin therapy
  • Providing educational and training programs for junior surgeons and other healthcare professionals

Requirements:

  • Post-CCT or equivalent higher surgical training
  • Strong background in complex hernia surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to ongoing education and professional development
