Job Title: English Language Specialist

LT Selection is seeking a dedicated English Language Specialist to join their team in the education and training sector. This permanent, full-time position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of learners, working with a supportive team that values innovation and creative approaches to teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English language lessons aimed at improving learner progression and achievement.
  • Collaborate with vocational departments to integrate English language skills into broader subject areas, enhancing learner outcomes and employability.
  • Track and record student progress, attendance, and engagement using digital platforms, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Work towards achieving high retention and qualification success rates, driving learner success and organisational excellence.
  • Engage with learners' guardians regarding progress, providing regular updates and support.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes wellbeing and adheres to safeguarding protocols, prioritising learner safety and welfare.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience teaching English to Further Education (FE) learners, with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to embed English language skills in practical, vocational contexts, enhancing learner relevance and employability.
  • Highly organised, with excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach to classroom management, ensuring effective collaboration and teamwork.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent; a degree or relevant qualification in English is required, with a strong emphasis on teaching and learning.
  • A Level 5 teaching qualification is preferred but not essential for candidates with substantial experience, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development and excellence in teaching practice.
