Temwa is a UK-based charity dedicated to empowering remote communities in Northern Malawi. Our mission is to foster community-led development through sustainable agriculture, forestry, health, and education programmes. By partnering with local communities in Malawi, we aim to end poverty and transform their futures.

Job Purpose:

  • Lead the fundraising team, comprising the Programme & Trust Officer and the Fundraising & Events Coordinator, to grow and develop the charity's fundraising programme.
  • Oversee the Communications Officer to provide information for PR, marketing, and promotion of fundraising activities, as well as to highlight Temwa's work in Malawi.
  • Develop and implement the fundraising strategy, including planning and forecasting fundraising activities.
  • Support the Managing Director with corporate fundraising, particularly through the Carbon Balance Programme.
  • Manage the daily operations of the UK fundraising office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect pipeline management to track opportunities and activity levels for informed income monitoring against budgets.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with Trust and Foundation donors.
  • Experience of writing compelling bids/business cases and reports.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a fundraising role with a proven track record of setting and achieving fundraising income targets.
  • Ability to manage an organization's prospect pipeline.
  • Experience of managing people (paid staff or volunteers).
