Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team as a Front End Systems Specialist at Lorien. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-volume, low-latency microservices platform and contribute to the development of innovative software solutions.

About the Role:

As a Front End Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for scaling and performance optimising web front end and interaction with API layers. You will work closely with development teams to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. Your expertise in distributed web caching tools and techniques, such as Redis, will be invaluable in achieving our goals.

In addition to your technical skills, you will also be expected to collaborate with colleagues to increase team cohesion and engage in pair programming and code reviews. Your ability to resolve complex software challenges and optimise system performance will be critical in driving business success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritise project requirements
  • Collaborate with peers to share knowledge and best practices
  • Implement performance optimisation techniques to improve system efficiency
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and practices
  • Expertise in front-end technologies, including React Native
  • Experience with MongoDB and Hazelcast
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • A hybrid remote working arrangement with 2 days per week in our Manchester office
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Annual bonus scheme (10% of salary)
