Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a Primary or Secondary school setting. The successful candidate will work closely with the inclusion team to provide individualized support to students with a range of needs, including ASD, EHCPs, learning difficulties, and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND
  • Assist with managing students' intimate care needs, including nappy changing and feeding
  • Use PECS and Makaton communication systems, as required
  • Work collaboratively with the inclusion team to develop and implement individualized support plans

Requirements:

  • Teaching Assistant Qualification or experience in supporting SEND pupils
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
