Job Title: Tax Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Professional to join our team at Room at the Top Recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax compliance and advisory services, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive personal tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of individual clients.
  • Assist with drafting corporation tax returns and provide advice on capital allowances, R&D claims, and other matters.
  • Support the Directors in delivering expert advice on UK income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, corporation tax, VAT, and matters of residence and domicile.
  • Identify and advise on strategic planning opportunities for clients, particularly during tax return reviews and other relevant communications.
  • Manage Work-In-Progress (WIP) effectively, including setting and meeting client expectations, ensuring recoverability, proposing fees, invoicing, and timely cash collection.
  • Demonstrate strong risk management skills, particularly in client acceptance and engagement processes.
  • Stay informed about technical and market developments, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and practices.
Requirements:
  • Fully qualified Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) is essential. Our client would consider candidates without certification if qualified by experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
  • Knowledge of tax law and regulations.
  • Experience with CCH software package desirable.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing role desirable.
What We Offer:

A permanent role based in Hoddesdon, offering a generous salary dependent on skills, qualifications, and experience. The successful candidate will be required to work full-time hours (9am – 5pm Monday – Friday) onsite in their offices based in Hertfordshire.
