The technical community supports Dalkia UK Engineering and Dalkia UK Group businesses across various sectors and project life cycles, offering a wealth of development and role opportunities.

Your role will involve managing stakeholder relationships internally, such as bid teams, commercial teams, and operational teams, as well as external relationships with clients, consultant partners, supply chain, and manufacturers.

You will be expected to adhere to corporate governance and processes at all times, upholding the behaviours and values expected within Dalkia Engineering.

As a Project Technical Lead, you will oversee the delivery of effective design and technical management across projects. You will lead the pre-construction phase design processes, providing focus and direction. You will also ensure the design and engineering are challenged and interrogated within a collaborative team framework.

The project-based role focuses on setting up projects technically and derisking them in the preconstruction phase to reduce onsite engineering and uncertainty in design and cost. You will support project teams and be responsible for ensuring the design is coordinated and technically complete, with any outstanding issues closed out, instructed change, and value engineering incorporated.

You will have a passion for complex engineering, design, and collaboration, as well as excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities and Key Outcomes:

  1. Management of project technical risk.
  2. Ensures that designs are properly coordinated and communicated.
  3. Ensures compliance with relevant technical standards, regulations, industry norms, good practice, engineering system safety (CDM, BSA, Approved documents, etc).
  4. Manages the design development and integration of value engineering.
  5. Manages consultant design deliverables and programme to align with Dalkia's pricing, procurement, construction, and BG6 deliverables.
  6. Seeks value engineering opportunities and ensures the integration of those selected.
  7. Liaises closely with consultant design teams, Dalkia UK Digital engineers, project managers, and project engineers.

Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 per annum.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• BEng or MEng/MSc in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related building services degree.

• Incorporated or Chartered status (or working towards) with CIBSE, IET, IMechE, or other related institution.

• Minimum 5 years in design-related engineering roles.

• Sector experience in healthcare, commercial, leisure, MOD/MOJ, education preferred.

• Experience of working on projects with £5-50M MEP value.
