About the Year in Industry:

We have an exciting new position created to offer students the chance to complete a Year in Industry placement within the Operations Function.

Operations supports our mission by taking demand from customer programmes to deliver products and services needed to maintain national security.

We have a diverse range of products across Operations, from technical reports to experimental tests and fully assembled nuclear warheads.

This role will be within Non-Nuclear Operations and Transport Group, which provides policy, standards, competency, and processes to support accountancy, control of components, and other special materials.

They maintain and manage the Logistics and Material programme deliverables, ensuring cycle count activities are initiated in accordance with the audit plan.

They provide suitably qualified and experienced material control staff in facilities to ensure safe and secure movement of all material, complying with authorized processes and regulations for transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of material controllers to effect material control operations.
  • Material control interface and logistics liaison with customers and suppliers in all aspects of logistics and material management activities.
  • Supporting each business area through knowledge, systems, and subject matter expertise for the identification of components.
  • Management of company vehicles and transport liaison officer duties.
  • Supporting the disposition process through sentencing and accurate record keeping.

Requirements:

You will be fully trained and undergo a thorough induction process when working in the operations function.

A full UK driving license would be beneficial for those working in the Non-Nuclear Operations and Transport Group.
