Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Nurse to join our team at the Transformation Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the assessment, treatment, and pharmacological management of Children and Young People with complex mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide primary CAMHS assessments and specialist assessments, using self-report measures, structured observations, clinical interviews, and interpreting complex data to identify and diagnose emotional and behavioural problems.
  • To formulate mental healthcare and crisis treatment plans specific to each C&YP and family, based on an analysis of historical and developmental processes contributing to the presentation.
  • To assess safeguarding issues and consult with other professionals, referring concerns to the appropriate safeguarding team as required.
  • To deliver evidence-based treatments, monitoring outcomes, and modifying interventions drawing on a range of theoretical options.

Requirements:

  • A First level nursing qualification (RMN or RSCN or HV) with related CAMHS experience.
  • An MSc level qualification or equivalent with evidence of post-registration professional development in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Non-medical prescriber registration with the NMC.
  • Formal training in supervision.
