Duty Officer

About the Role:
The Duty Officer plays a crucial part in the management of the Good Shepherd Secure Unit, ensuring the safe and secure running of the centre across all staff teams and working patterns. This role involves coordinating the management of care services across the Houses of the unit, prioritizing the needs of our young people, and working closely with the senior management team to achieve agreed work plans.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the safe running of the centre, ensuring the well-being and safety of young people and staff members.
- Coordinate the delivery of care services, ensuring high-quality standards are met and legislative, organizational, and procedural requirements are upheld.
- Support the senior management team in achieving work plans and ensuring the continued development and growth of the unit.
Requirements:
- A Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Social Care and the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Caring for Children and Young People at Level 4 or above, or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
- Experience of supporting vulnerable young people and a commitment to upholding and promoting Children's Rights.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and management skills.
