Our Team

We have a multi-disciplinary team comprising experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), Pharmacists, Wellbeing Team members, and Physician Associates. Our team focuses on staff wellbeing, promoting strong communication and collaboration across all teams.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Primary Care Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our practice nursing team, carrying out various clinical tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist practice nurses with health promotion programs, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely follow-up.
  • Conduct baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate, documenting findings meticulously.
  • Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly and providing tailored guidance.
  • Undertake wound care, dressings, and other clinical tasks as required, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and infection control.
  • Collaborate with practice nurses to manage chronic disease clinics, ensuring seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Perform BMI checks as directed, promoting healthy lifestyle choices and encouraging patient engagement.
  • Act as a chaperone when necessary, upholding patient dignity and confidentiality.
  • Undertake venepuncture and administer flu vaccinations once trained, demonstrating expertise and confidence in these procedures.
  • Carry out ECGs as requested, applying knowledge and skills to provide accurate results.
  • Ensure specimens are accurately recorded and prepared for onward transportation, maintaining the integrity of patient samples.
  • Provide support during minor operations as needed, remaining calm and composed in pressurized situations.
  • Maintain clinical rooms with adequate stocks and preparations for each session, adhering to best practices and protocols.
  • Clean fridges regularly, following current guidance to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a safe environment.
  • Remove clinical waste from areas and replace sharps bins according to IPC policy, upholding a clean and hygienic workspace.
Person Specification

We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in primary care.
  • Able to work effectively with diverse patient groups, empathizing with their needs and concerns.
  • Basic life support training and certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to lift and move patients safely, using mechanical aids when necessary.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, staying updated on best practices and guidelines.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also benefit from a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme and annual leave allowance, as well as opportunities for growth and advancement within our dynamic team.
