Job Description

The Progeny Group is seeking a talented IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our innovative Technology team. As an IT Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining, protecting, developing, integrating, and operating our Infrastructure services.

This role requires a strong foundation of technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. You will be a proactive and adaptable individual who can work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a great understanding of IT infrastructure, and the ability to facilitate and lead technical projects successfully into Business as Usual (BAU) operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, monitor, support, and troubleshoot multi-site, on-premises, cloud, and Software as a Service (SaaS) IT infrastructure, including Networking, Windows Servers and Active Directory, Virtualisation, Microsoft 365, Security, Backups, Azure servers, End User Computing devices and software, devices, applications, data flows, and automation.
  • Responsible for setting up and configuring switches (Cisco or similar products), firewalls (WatchGuard/FortiGate/Sophos XG or similar), LAN, WAN infrastructure, WiFi setup, and performance, VPN, and firewalls to provide secure, stable connectivity.
  • Travel to other sites to maintain, upgrade, and migrate networks.
Requirements
  • Microsoft tech stack infrastructure related.
  • Cisco CCNA or equivalent.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Qualification, i.e. ITIL or relevant experience.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working as an Infrastructure engineer within Multi-Domain (MS AD) environments, with a strong understanding of Azure administration, deployment, and migrations, beyond managing server instances.

Demonstrable experience with, but not limited to, the following:

  • Windows Server 2012 onwards, Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Group Policy.
  • Microsoft Intune and Windows Patch Management.
  • Microsoft clustering technologies.
  • Microsoft Exchange (2013 or upwards).
  • Active Directory: DNS, DHCP, Site and Service.
  • Firewalls (Anti-Virus, firewalls, EUC, data and Cloud security).
