Community Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs across Barking & Dagenham.
Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Community Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical cases
- Guiding and supervising junior colleagues
- Working directly with children and young people and their families, and liaising with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals
- Developing links with local acute trusts A&E departments and inpatient wards
- Assessing, managing, planning, and delivering care to patients allocated to you
- Supporting your peers and the team manager, and being an effective team member while working on your own initiative
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
- Section 12 certification, or a commitment to work towards this
- Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental disorders
- At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
