HGV Technician Role Overview

Our client, a leading family-run haulage firm, is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their team. With a strong reputation for excellence, they have been established for nearly 100 years and operate multiple depots across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, including general servicing and pre-planned maintenance.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform reactive maintenance as required and ensure vehicles are presented to a high standard for MOTs.
  • Correct running defects and ensure vehicles are safe to operate.

Requirements:
  • Hold an in-depth knowledge of HGVs and trailers.
  • Hold an HGV licence Class 1 (desirable but not essential).
  • Be a fully skilled HGV Technician with industry-recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three) in heavy vehicle service, maintenance, and repair.
