Exciting Opportunity for a Structural Steel Draughtsperson

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Draughtsperson to join our team in Cardiff. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality steelwork designs using Tekla software.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work with a well-established company specialising in Structural Steelwork. You will be working on a diverse range of projects, including steel structures, refurbishment steel, and staircases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Producing high-quality steelwork designs using Tekla software
  • Importing models and files into Tekla Structures
  • Interpreting Structural Engineer and Architect drawings
  • Creating fabrication drawings and advising the fabrication team
  • Conducting site visits and communicating with subcontractors and clients
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience using Tekla
  • Good knowledge of BIM and skills to import models and files into Tekla Structures
  • Understanding of steel fabrication process and installation
  • Experience and knowledge of drawing practices and standards related to Tekla design, connection detailing, and fabrication drawings
  • Able to work under pressure to meet required timescales
