**Job Summary**

Belmont Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Contract Officer to join our team. As a Senior Contract Officer, you will be responsible for managing a network of school transport routes, tendering and managing contracts, and liaising with parents, schools, and transport providers.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Organize and maintain a network of school transport routes into Mainstream Schools within a given geographical area of Somerset.
* Design a complex and constantly changing network of routes as safely and economically as possible, utilizing a variety of vehicles operated by a diverse range of contractors.
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the network, including inspections on school sites and initial telephone risk assessments of pupils.
* Provide support for drivers and passenger assistants and school/college staff who deal with transport issues, and provide training to drivers and passenger assistants.
* Ensure correct allocation of budget codes and authorise contractor invoices up to agreed limits.

**Requirements**

* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in transport management or a related field.
