Job Description
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for providing leadership to the development and effective delivery of professional services across the University. This includes the Academic Registry, Estates and Facilities, Computing and Information Services, and Strategic Delivery Unit.
The COO will work closely with senior colleagues to build alignment across the University's operations at a time of significant change and transformation in the sector. They will have empathy with Durham's purpose and values and enjoy working in close partnership with senior colleagues in pursuit of our strategic ambitions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of shaping modern, service-oriented and cost-effective professional service operations within large and complex organisations, ideally within Higher Education. They will have a strong understanding of the Higher Education sector and its challenges.
A competitive salary in the range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate, depending on experience. The salary reflects the importance of this role in leading the University's operations.
