Fleet Services Vehicle Technician

Teqniq Ltd is seeking a skilled Fleet Services Vehicle Technician to join our team in the public sector.

This is a 35-hour per week, 3-month contract position with a regular working schedule of 09:00-17:00.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance and responsive repairs to all vehicles and plant in use by the London Borough of Lewisham and third-party contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake planned maintenance and responsive repairs to all vehicles and plant supplied to end-user departments by Fleet Services.
  • Ensure that planned maintenance and responsive repairs are carried out to VOSA, Construction and Use, Manufacturers, and HSE standards.
  • Prepare HGV and PSV vehicles for annual test to all latest construction and use regulations and MOT testers manual standards.
  • Progress planned maintenance and responsive repairs through the Fleet Vehicle Workshops in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Accurately record all planned maintenance and responsive repairs on job cards and legal VOSA safety check sheets.
  • Liaise with the Fleet Vehicle Workshop Stores to ensure adequate vehicle spares are available and requisition non-stock items as required.
  • Liaise with user department drivers and supervisors on vehicle fault finding and vehicle availability and legal compliance.
  • Liaise with specialist vehicle repair contractors to aid accurate and expedited diagnosis of vehicle faults.
