Job Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead a team of Mechanical Engineers and act as the Responsible Engineer on Mechanical Engineering projects. The successful candidate will be accountable for the design delivery of Mechanical Design allocated to projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Mechanical Engineers and provide technical guidance and support.
  • Act as the Responsible Engineer on Mechanical Engineering projects and ensure projects are completed to meet client requirements and applicable standards.
  • Plan project works and provide resource forecasting to enable the team leader to allocate suitable resources.
  • Identify changes to project requirements and raise changes with the SYSTRA Project Management Team.
  • Provide monthly cost forecasts to the SYSTRA Project Management Team.
  • Ensure the training and development needs of the mechanical team are met to serve client/project requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Chartered status is ideal.
  • Considerable experience and expertise in managing complex or non-standard design solutions.
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical services design within the built environment or transport infrastructure.
  • Detailed knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with M&E and building services.
  • Detailed knowledge of construction principles and standards.
  • Good understanding of CSM/CDM regulations and requirements.
  • Good communication and presentation skills for external presentations to clients.
  • Management of a team of Mechanical engineers on allocated projects.
  • Maintaining good relationships with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company.
  • Maintaining good relationships with Engineers from other internal discipline teams to promote good inter-discipline working relationships and a "One Team" ethos.
