About the Role

We are seeking two experienced Planning Officers to join our dynamic Development Management team at Teignbridge District Council. As a Planning Officer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality developments, improving the built and natural environment, and contributing to the council's vision of making Teignbridge a healthy and desirable place to live, work, and visit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Give pre-application advice and make site visits to assess development proposals.
  • Write reports and make recommendations on planning applications, including prior approvals and major planning applications.
  • Represent the council in appeals and at planning committee meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve the council's objectives.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Town and Country Planning or a related subject.
  • Recent and relevant skills and knowledge relating to Development Management.
  • Several years of experience within a Local Planning Authority, preferably in a rural location.
  • Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  • Full driving license and ability to undertake site visits around the district.
