Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Author to join our team at Lionbridge. As a key member of our technical publications team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical documentation for armoured land vehicles.

About the Role

  • Manage customer and internal technical relationships to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Act as the operational and day-to-day technical expert and key point of contact for customers.
  • Scope and define tasks ready for production by the operational teams.
  • Monitor deliverables to ensure quality and project KPIs are successfully met.
  • Review project schedules to support successful and accurate delivery to key milestones.
  • Develop process, training, and production methods to support efficiency gains.
  • Work directly with the Project Manager to create development strategies to ensure continuity of capability within the organisation.
  • Work with and support the wider organisation to understand customer needs and develop solutions for new business opportunities.
  • Review technology and software solutions to support automation and enhance offerings for our customers.

Requirements

  • UK nationality and SC level clearance or no known reason why clearance may not be granted.
  • Extensive technical and engineering competence gained in a relevant industry and environment, ideally military.
  • Knowledge of the technical documentation environment within an engineering field.
  • Proven experience in creating and compiling Army Equipment Support Publications (AESPs), demonstrating an understanding of military standards and specifications including DEFSTAN 00601 part 4 and STE.
  • Familiarity with heavy armour, including armoured land vehicles, with an ability to understand and document complex mechanical systems and components.
  • Familiarity with the defence industry and associated security process.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong English language capability.
  • Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Demonstratable experience of being proactive, adaptable, and resourceful.
