Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team at Yard and Groom as a Polo Pony Care Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional care and management of polo ponies, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
  • Prepare ponies for chukkas, ensuring they are fit and ready for competition.
  • Drive a 3 1/2 ton horsebox, with a valid driving license.
  • Assist with stable management, including cleaning, maintenance, and organization.
  • Live on-site in self-contained accommodation, with all bills paid.
  • Work a 5-day week, with flexible hours.

Requirements:

  • Easy-going and cheerful personality, with excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Current staff members are happy to discuss the role and provide insight into the team's dynamics.

Essential Skills:

  • Riding experience and proficiency.
  • Valid driving license and experience driving a horsebox.
  • Equine first-aid training and knowledge.
  • Handling youngstock and schooling experience.
  • Lunging, bandaging, plaiting, clipping, and trimming skills.
  • Sole charge experience and ability to exercise ponies.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Polo experience and knowledge.
