About the role:

Fawkes and Reece is seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Specialist to support the technical team in ensuring that Section 38 and 104 roads and sewers are designed, approved, and constructed to appropriate adoption standards.

This role would be ideal for an experienced engineer looking to take on new challenges and contribute to the company's goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Technical and Commercial Departments in issuing tender drawings to contractors and assessing them upon return.
  • Review engineering designs to ensure their cost effectiveness and build ability.
  • Coordinate as-built surveys and produce adoption drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Inspect road and sewer works from commencement to formal adoption by the Local Authority.
  • Ensure works are carried out within an agreed budget and timescale.
  • Obtain and check plot postal addresses.
  • Obtain multi-utility/service connection quotations and assess them with the Engineering Manager.
  • Prior to legal completion of new homes, ensure driveways and footpaths are completed to agreed standards.
  • Answer queries from site on engineering issues with support from the Line Manager.
  • Prepare and maintain drawing registers for engineering details and drawings.
  • Prepare External Works and Plot Drainage plans using AutoCAD.
  • Produce a Materials Management Plan for required and surplus topsoil and subsoil.
  • Check and coordinate information from external consultants, suppliers, and manufacturers on engineering-related details.

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND in Construction/Civil Engineering.
  • AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Good engineering knowledge from previous experience in the House Building Sector.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Health and safety awareness.
  • Ability to work within a busy team environment and autonomously.
