About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Operations and Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic team at Veolia's Battlefield Energy Recovery Facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility, which transforms residual waste into energy for the National Grid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the waste reception and ash residue hall areas, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Operate mobile plant equipment, including forklift trucks, telehandlers, and wheel loaders, to load vehicles and maintain a high level of cleanliness.
  • Conduct plant inspections, take readings, and train with the operations shift team.
  • Clean and maintain the plant and equipment to meet health, safety, and operational standards.
  • Perform other duties as instructed by the Operations Supervisor/Shift Team Leader.
Requirements
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Current counterbalance forklift truck, telehandler, and wheel loader driving qualification or equivalent (training will be provided).
  • PC literacy and good communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivation, requiring minimal supervision, and ability to prioritize tasks to achieve objectives.
  • Driving license is essential.
  • Experience of operating mobile plant is desirable.
