Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior International Tax Specialist to join our team at HM Revenue and Customs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex international tax cases, providing technical expertise and guidance to colleagues, and contributing to the development of our international tax compliance strategy.

With a strong background in transfer pricing and international tax, you will have a proven track record of successfully managing and leading complex enquiries or projects end-to-end. You will also have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders.

This is a technical leadership role with no line management responsibilities, offering opportunities to influence policy, contribute to the development of innovative solutions, and build the international tax community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex international tax cases, providing technical expertise and guidance to colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development of our international tax compliance strategy, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to colleagues, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in international tax law and regulations, applying this knowledge to inform our compliance strategy and ensure that we are meeting our obligations.
Requirements
  • Significant recent experience of transfer pricing of multinational enterprises gained in HMRC, industry, or in practice.
  • Excellent understanding of international tax and OECD frameworks.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage and lead complex enquiries or projects end-to-end.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and technical skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to colleagues.
