Plant Operations Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Operations Manager to join our team at Andrews Recruitment Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality asphalt while ensuring excellence in health and safety, sustainability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all plant operations to ensure the production of asphalt meets BSI:9001 specifications.
- Conduct and review pre-start inspections and maintenance activities to ensure all equipment is in optimal condition.
- Manage plant personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high operational standards.
- Utilize control systems to optimize fixed plant operations, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
Maintenance and Safety Oversight:
- Lead the maintenance teams in proactive monitoring and repair of plant equipment.
- Ensure all safety protocols are rigorously followed, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
- Monitor aggregate stock levels and ensure timely replenishment to meet production demands.
Operational Efficiency:
- Optimize plant operations to minimize environmental impact and costs.
- Ensure efficient loading and scheduling of materials, coordinating with logistics to meet production deadlines.
- Manage data entry and reporting for internal management systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Team Development:
- Mentor and develop team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in plant management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- Solid understanding of asphalt production processes and plant equipment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- IT literacy to manage data input, reporting, and control systems.
