We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Assistant to join our team at Montgomery County Public Schools.

Job Summary:

This is a part-time position that requires the ability to work independently and in small groups to reinforce instruction, monitor performance, and support learning. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively with children, young adults, and staff members.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in promoting student learning and well-being
  • Reinforce instruction, monitor performance, and support learning
  • Perform instructional and classroom management supports
  • Participate in monitoring and ensuring appropriate student behavior
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 48 college credits or two years of experience working with children and adolescents
  • Knowledge of child development, instructional strategies, and practices applicable to assignment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interact with and support students with special needs
Working Conditions:

This position is part-time, approximately 55 hours bi-weekly, with a salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
