Civil Engineering Lead Opportunity at AECOM

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Lead to join our team at AECOM in Suffolk. The successful candidate will oversee various engineering disciplines across multiple residential projects and collaborate with a respected developer known for crafting high-quality homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site appraisals for new land acquisitions, including analysing levels and drainage strategies.
  • Offer expert advice on utilities, highways requirements, and planning obligations to support cost analysis.
  • Manage third-party consultants to develop comprehensive tender packages for infrastructure design (civil/structural engineering and utilities).
  • Collaborate with legal teams and local authorities to secure relevant Section Agreements for the adoption of new highways, drainage, and utility assets.
  • Provide engineering advice and resolve issues arising during the construction phase.
  • Coordinate the final inspection, vesting, and adoption of infrastructure assets with the relevant parties.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of HNC/HND qualification in an engineering-related discipline with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in residential housing, either within a development company or private practice, and a solid understanding of highways, drainage, and utilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience working with external consultants, local authorities, and flood authorities.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent coordination abilities.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and MicroDrainage is desirable but not essential.
