Project Engineer - Track & Trace/Auto Ident Support

SICK Sensor Intelligence is a world-leading supplier of industrial sensors, and we are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our Track & Trace/Auto Ident Support team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out onsite installation and commissioning of Auto Ident and Track & Trace products, including travel and occasional overnight stays.
  • Conduct basic project management tasks, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform all aspects of system installation, commissioning, and support.
  • Help schedule preventative maintenance visits and ensure pre-work documentation is completed.
  • Complete post-visit reports to the required standard and send them to the Systems office in a timely manner.
  • Contact the Lead Project Engineer for assistance when working on customer sites.
  • Liaise with component suppliers and build 3rd party knowledge.
  • Provide technical, application, and trial support, as well as conduct demonstrations for customers and other SICK engineers.
  • Prepare and conduct training for customers and employees as required.
  • Identify and request training appropriate to the job role and attend training courses as needed.
  • Observe all Company procedures and policies.
Essential Skills, Experience & Competencies:
  • Minimum BTEC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a customer project environment with commercial awareness of project costs and timelines.
  • Experience in commissioning using GUI (Graphical User Interface).
  • Experience in LUA or PLC programming is desirable.
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK and Europe (South West).
  • Full UK driving licence.
