Job Title: Senior QA Engineer

Abacus Professional Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer to join our client's team. As a key member of the Automation Development Manager's team, you will play a crucial role in establishing and scaling a QA Practice with a focus on automated testing across the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with colleagues in T&DD and the wider organisation to deliver innovative digital CX initiatives that place the company at the forefront of the marketplace.
  • Collaborate with relevant areas of the business to ensure decisions are made and delivered in an agile manner.
  • Support the Automation Development Manager in the build of key digital customer solutions, including maintaining the QA backlog and driving the development of new and innovative ways for developers to engage with the team.
  • Deploy solutions that meet technical requirements across multiple environments, ensuring smooth delivery to the front-end user.
  • Adhere to the appropriate level of governance over implementation of technology to comply with standards.
  • Build and implement a model for onboarding and mentoring QA Engineers within the team.
  • Understand development patterns for application design and resilience, guiding QA Engineers to ensure creation of reusable services and libraries to enable platform scalability.
  • Identify, recommend, source (from Group/external) and implement the appropriate tools, software, applications, and systems to support technology goals.
  • Utilise professional project management methodologies and ensure the QA team has an appropriate mix of skill and competencies that fit individual projects.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies that can support the digital agenda into the future.
  • Communicate complex technical information effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders, including those without a technical background.
Requirements:
  • The ability to interpret and analyse management information and other data to make appropriate recommendations.
  • Establish Software Testing KPIs to gauge the effectiveness of the software testing process.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to continuously develop own competency levels to ensure they match the requirements of the job.
  • Achievement of deadlines and timescales.
  • Ability to upskill quickly and keep up to date with emerging technology in the QA space as well as Digital Journeys planned and in development.
  • Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and Group to leverage software testing practices and adopt for UK Compliance with appropriate policies, strategies and standards.
