The successful candidate will ensure that engineering and maintenance work management processes are adhered to, and that assets and maintenance processes across the department are efficient, reliable, and meet statutory regulations and the Syngenta HSE management system.
The role will also involve cost centre and duty holder accountability for utility assets, as well as providing effective out-of-hours mechanical and electrical shift support and specialist services to manufacturing plant customers.
The Utilities Engineering Manager will lead a team of Asset Engineering, Maintenance Planning, and Maintenance Supervision leads, as well as electrical and mechanical technicians working day and shift patterns.
The successful candidate will have an engineering or science-based degree, higher education, and alignment with a professional engineering institution. They will also have strong experience in maintaining and operating utility assets, including generation, transmission, and use.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring engineering and maintenance standards and guidance are adhered to in utility areas operated by contract partners
- Leading a team of engineers and technicians to provide effective out-of-hours support and specialist services
- Managing cost centre and duty holder accountability for utility assets
- Developing and implementing engineering and maintenance processes to ensure efficiency and reliability
