Lead Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at CV-Library. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of components and subassemblies delivered from our global supply chain. You will work closely with other team members to improve suppliers' quality and delivery performance, providing critical quality assurance support to new product introduction in the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate the capability of new and existing component vendors to ensure defect-free components at projected volumes.
  2. Coordinate the flawless launch of new products from the supply chain, ensuring that all quality requirements are met.
  3. Develop under-performing suppliers through collaborative improvement activities to reduce the risk of production shortages and line stops.
  4. Promptly review and approve PPAPs, maintain records, and update departmental KPIs.
  5. Organize internal/external measurements and data analysis as necessary to validate PPAPs.
  6. Create and maintain inspection plans for incoming parts, ensuring that all quality standards are met.
  7. Request and expedite supplier 8D reports for nonconforming parts, and lead supplier root cause analysis as required.
  8. Act as Supplier Development Engineer when required, collaborating with Clients Systems Team and selected suppliers.
  9. Ensure that parts and processes utilize tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Measurement System Analysis, Value Stream Analysis, Control Plan & work instructions.
  10. Represent Quality for the business within the supplier base through strong leadership and engagement, driving and influencing internal and external stakeholders to achieve company QCD objectives.
Qualifications & Experience:
  1. Engineering degree and/or a recognized Quality Management qualification.
  2. A qualified ISO 9001 auditor, preferably lead assessor.
  3. Previous SQ experience in automotive manufacturing or a similar industry.
  4. Experience in NPI and developing/managing suppliers to deliver quality requirements.
  5. Ability to lead, influence, and support with a positive attitude, strong negotiating and communication skills, and effective collaboration abilities.
  6. Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and Core Tools.
  7. Experience in quality tools and methods, including Global 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why, Pareto, etc.
  8. Conversant with metrology, inspection methods, and equipment, as well as GD&T.
  9. Able to interpret 3D CAD and 2D drawings.
  10. Ability to present data accurately and effectively, planning and prioritizing activities with a level of autonomy.
  11. Able to travel at short notice within the UK or worldwide to Suppliers.
  12. Full clean driving license.
