About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team at YMCA DownsLink Group. As a key member of our staff team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16-25 who are at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a caseload of residents and work with them on a one-to-one basis to identify their needs and develop support plans.
  • Facilitate group work sessions to promote social skills, life skills, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work closely with other services, such as Social Services, Police, Probation, and local organisations, to ensure a holistic approach to supporting our residents.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, with a calm and assertive manner, to handle potentially difficult situations.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and has experience of working with vulnerable individuals. You will have knowledge of housing and welfare benefits, as well as an awareness of safeguarding procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and external partners.
