We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at Veolia ES (UK) LIMITED. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our transportation services.
Key Responsibilities- Management and Leadership: Provide management and leadership to a team of transportation professionals, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Operational Performance: Ensure that all transportation operations are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures, and that all vehicles and equipment are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
- Fleet Management: Manage a fleet of circa 60 vehicles and plant, ensuring that they are properly maintained and that all necessary repairs and maintenance are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Cost Control: Control repair costs and charges via maintenance contracts and maintain safe working procedures through training and assessment.
- Health and Safety: Ensure that all transportation operations are carried out in accordance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Environmental Management: Ensure that all transportation operations are carried out in accordance with environmental legislation and company procedures.
- Management Qualification: Possess a management qualification or have previous management experience.
- CPC Qualification: Hold a CPC qualification and CoTC (Certificate of Technical Competence - internal training can be offered).
- IOSH or NEBOSH: Hold an IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety & Health) Managing Safely or NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) General Certificate.
- Operational Experience: Previous experience within project planning and management, multi-site facilities/depot management and general experience of working in operational management (blue collar), e.g. Logistics and waste.
- Financial Management: Experience of managing own P&L (Profit and Loss).
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills to a variety of audiences and possess highly developed IT skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, Software Systems.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex written and numerical reports, e.g. tonnage, legislation, and finance.
- Leadership Skills: Previous experience supervising people, e.g. as a charge hand or foreman and working within a plant and various motor engines.
