Job Title: Urban Design and Planning ExpertAbout the Role:

HKS Architects Ltd is seeking an Urban Design and Planning Expert to join our Hospitality team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in urban design, planning, and architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site analysis and visualize specific contexts to inform project design.
  • Collaborate with senior designers and project teams on conceptual designs and presentations.
  • Develop design concepts and expand on existing ideas.
  • Participate in project proposals and develop design solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of urban design principles to projects, including building massing, scale, and public space design.
  • Support design efforts and client presentations.
  • Develop and modify drawings to incorporate design intent.
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and implementation documents.
  • Collaborate on design development throughout project phases.
  • Assist in research of code requirements, local ordinances, and emerging best practices.
  • Prepare presentation/design drawings and build models for review.
  • Deliver complete project design presentations to clients or public forums.

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
  • Architectural registration or licensure preferred or within one year of hire.
  • Typically 4-8 years of experience in landscape architecture/urban design; international masterplanning experience preferred.
  • Urban design/planning accreditation preferred such as AICP, LEED ND, and/or Ecodistricts AP.
  • Knowledge of architectural software, GIS, and urban design theories.
  • Strong presentation skills and graphic visualization abilities.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and maintain quality standards.

Compensation Package:A competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per year.
