Job Summary

Undercliffe Surgery is seeking a highly skilled Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Greet patients politely and ensure the appointment system is running efficiently.
  • Monitor the flow of patients to and from consulting rooms, managing queues through telephone and face-to-face interaction.
  • Ensure patients are informed if a clinician is running late or called out.
  • Manage urgent extras and advise patients of relevant charges for non-NHS services.
  • Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Minimum 6 months work experience in a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • Experience of working directly with members of the public in a busy customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of working in an administrative office environment.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.

Undercliffe Surgery is a busy, forward-thinking practice in the heart of Heckmondwike. We are a friendly, dynamic team led by our three GP Partners. Our clinical team consists of GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Nurses, and Healthcare Assistants, supported by our secretarial and admin teams.
