Building Regulations Principal Designer Position Overview

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a highly skilled Principal Designer to join their team. As a key member of the company, you will be responsible for coordinating internal technical experts in architecture, building surveying, structures, and building services engineering to deliver Organisational Competence for the BR PD Role.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collate and comment on all Design Risk compliance documents.
  2. Produce, review and update a BSA compliance Risk Register / Project Compliance Coordination Record.
  3. Coordinate the review of the full design package by internal specialists in architecture/building surveying/services engineering/structures and highlight Building Regulations compliance.
  4. Assist in preparing the project Building Regulations conformance statement and other BR PD duties.
  5. Assess necessary involvement during the Construction Phase by setting out visits, requirements, and information to be provided by the Principal Contractor requirements, and any opening up or inspection regime.
  6. Conduct periodic inspections of the works as defined in scope for each particular project.
  7. Coordinate and gather any variations to the design which may impact Building Regulation compliance.

Building Regulations Principal Designer Position Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Proven experience within a CDM / Health & Safety advisor role or a Building Control, Building Surveying, or Clerk Of Works background.
  2. NEBOSH certificate or other relevant qualification.

Building Regulations Principal Designer Position Remuneration

The successful candidate will receive:

  1. Salary: £45k - £65k (Guide only - DOE)
  2. Hybrid Working (3 days in the office)
  3. On-site parking facilities (excluding London)
  4. Holidays: 25 Days + Bank Holidays + Christmas shutdown and amount increasing with service
  5. Competitive company pension scheme
  6. Training and development.
