We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Oxford.
This role involves technical design and development tasks, with the potential to take on project, customer, and team management responsibilities. You will be expected to lead projects, collaborate with customers and suppliers to ensure timely progress and high-quality results, and integrate with the wider engineering team to leverage available skills effectively.
The role encompasses all aspects of control system design, from initial requirements identification to delivery, covering high-level architecture, software development, systems integration, testing, calibration, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop vehicle-level control system architectures.
- Conduct safety analysis and design processes.
- Design and develop real-time embedded control software.
- Develop and apply system models.
- Design and develop test rig control and modeling systems.
- Apply test, calibration, and validation procedures.
- Document all steps in the process.
Required Skills:
- Software: Matlab, Simulink, C/C++, PC applications (Visual Studio).
- Simulation: model development, data generation, and analysis.
- Analysis: data logging and analysis.
- Vehicle systems architecture design.
- Vehicle communications systems, including CAN and LIN, along with associated tools.
- Safety analysis, including FMEA and HazOP.
- Proficiency in PC applications, including Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of electronic circuit design.
- Understanding of mechanical, thermal, and other associated systems design.
- Understanding of ISO26262.
- Automotive quality and management systems and processes.
