Job Title: TB Nurse Specialist - Band 6

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated TB Nurse Specialist to join our team at Whittington Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with tuberculosis (TB) and latent TB infection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert patient-centered nursing care and advice to patients with TB and latent TB infection.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Conduct nurse-led clinics and provide follow-up care to patients with TB and latent TB infection.
  • Collaborate with community health teams to provide outreach services and support to patients in their homes and communities.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and policies for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of TB and latent TB infection.
  • Contribute to the training and education of healthcare professionals on TB and latent TB infection.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in TB care.
Requirements:
  • First-level registered adult nurse with a degree-level qualification or willingness to work towards.
  • Post-registration experience in acute medicine, inclusion health, or community working with vulnerable adults or children.
  • Sound knowledge of current nursing and healthcare issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • IT literacy and proficiency in using electronic patient records.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Specialist TB nursing course or equivalent experience.
  • Paediatric qualification or experience.
  • History taking and physical assessment qualification.
  • Previous experience in inclusion health.
Personal Qualities:
  • Effective role model demonstrating values of innovation, care, respect, and pride.
  • Polite, helpful, and diplomatic.
