About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Portsmouth, responsible for electrical designs related to Underwater Weapons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to Electrical/Electronic Systems and equipment within the Submarine Support Motion Control Team.
  • Develop solutions to design problems or situations, including obsolescence management, manufacturing, and test support.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams under limited technical supervision.
  • Apply a range of design processes, tools, systems, and techniques to deliver high-quality results.
  • Communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders and other functions.
  • Perform self-verification of tasks to ensure completeness and quality.
  • Answer technical queries from stakeholders and provide support where required.
  • Adhere to Engineering Lifecycle and contribute to progress, peer, and design reviews.
  • Support and lead on continuous improvement activities.
  • Review, amend, and draft technical documentation, including reports and test procedures.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Electronic Engineering or a strongly related subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Analogue and Digital design, including component selection, evaluation, and preparing technical documentation.
  • Experience in design proving, integration, and defect resolution.
  • Ability to gather evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety.

Salary and Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including a pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance, and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
