Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Handy Person to join our team as a Maintenance Operative. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, including fault finding, repair, and preventative maintenance of building fabric and other duties in support of the rest of the team.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, including fault finding, test, repair, and preventative maintenance of building fabric and other duties in support of the rest of the team.
  2. Closing/updating completed PPM tasks on the site computerised maintenance system.
  3. Maintaining engineering standards to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated systems.
  4. Coordinating specialist subcontractors' requirements both for PPM and reactive works.
  5. Ensuring company QA and site procedures are adhered to in all aspects.
  6. FOLLOWING COMPANY & SITE HEALTH & SAFETY PROCEDURES AT ALL TIMES.
  7. Maintaining accurate site records/documentation in association with all site works.
  8. Inspecting the condition of services and proactively dealing with callouts/repairs as required, and requested by management.
  9. Attending site emergencies, outside of normal working hours and participating in the on-call rota.
  10. Carrying out tasks within typical plantroom environments and at high level, working from platforms and ladders. All access and PPE will be provided.
  11. Maintaining all company issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner.
  12. Working proactively towards the continued success and support of the contract with a positive approach.
  13. Completing any other associated task requested by the management.

You'll need:

  1. Proven track record of being comfortable carrying out painting and light joinery works.
  2. Able to adapt their technical skill sets to meet the demands of a busy retail centre.
  3. Competent in the use of computerised systems, such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  4. Sound level of administration and organisational skills.
  5. Previous experience of working within a maintenance team.
  6. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace.
  7. Previous experience in the use of safe system of work permits.
  8. Resides geographically near to job site and available for call out.

Annual Salary: £27,300 - £30,350
