Job Description

Carrington Blake Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Testing Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all electrical works carried out on site by contractors meet the exacting requirements of the project, technical brief, specifications, drawings, and legislation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Inspection and Monitoring: Conduct thorough site inspections and monitoring on all assigned projects, maintaining detailed diaries and site notes on a daily basis.
  • Communication and Liaison: Establish and maintain good channels of communication with client officers, contractors, residents, colleagues, and stakeholders, providing effective liaison and attending meetings as required.
  • Project Reporting: Assist with the preparation of project reports for Committees, Area Forums, Working Parties, Client Organisations, Tenant Associations, and external agencies, providing relevant information and advice to ensure budget control and contract management are achieved on all projects and contracts.
  • Quality Assurance and Audit: Provide the highest standard of on-site quality assurance and audit inspection, ensuring that work is in accordance with the relevant standards and statutory regulations.
  • Engineering Solutions and Advice: Assist the team and Senior Project Manager in providing advice and guidance concerning on-site engineering solutions, specifications, maintenance requirements, estimates, selection of materials and equipment, and inspection regimes.
  • Survey Information and Scheme Preparation: Provide on-site survey information to assist in the preparation of scheme drawings, specifications, and contract documents, ensuring effective briefing, direction, and liaison is provided.
  • Contractor Management: Advise on the appraisal, selection, appointment, and performance of contractors and sub-contractors, ensuring that work is carried out to the required standards.
  • Defect Inspection and Testing: Inspect and test completed projects, prepare schedules of defects, check remedial works, and complete appropriate records/certificates for internal use.

Pay Rate: £45.83 umbrella
