Job Description

As a Software Engineering Manager at Hargreaves Lansdown, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional product engineering team, supporting the growth of software engineers, driving technical delivery, continuous improvement, and innovation. You will partner closely with technical/business leaders and teams to understand business processes and data flows/challenges/opportunities and design solutions to deliver better outcomes for clients and colleagues.

You will own services under your team, including maintenance, support, security, and continuous improvement. Establishing a culture that is driven by purpose and excellence and a team that is motivated to make a difference is essential.

About You

We are looking for a strong technology leader with experience within complex organisations. You must set guard rails around scope, technology, quality, NFRs, best practices then empower your team to find the best solution within these guard rails. Enjoy working in a product, client-value-driven environment, collaborating closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders.

Able to manage ambiguity and seek clarity through collaboration and communication, strong people focus - prioritise your teams L&D, understand how to keep your team motivated and build a strong culture based on psychological safety. Strong software engineering background, able to define and communicate complex architectural concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
