Job Description

The Procurement Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful sourcing, management, and delivery of core, non-project specific / pan-project goods and services to schedule, budget, and quality. This involves identifying and optimizing sourcing practices to achieve improvements to stock availability, lead times, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the Procurement and Supply Chain Strategy, aligning with the company's corporate goals.
  • Maintain proactive cross-functional relationships with Production Planning, Goods In, and Quality departments to ensure stock and order planning supports business needs.
  • Support the achievement of company-wide material rationalization objectives.
  • Undertake activities for bid completion, including preparation, issue, and analysis of quotations.
  • Manage order raising, approvals, issues, and supplier acceptance, highlighting any discrepancies.
  • Support the delivery of MTS outsource subcon process supply chain, from identification of need to sourcing, onboarding, agreement of contract terms, and management of contracts and suppliers.
  • Support supplier negotiations, including review and negotiation of contractual terms.
  • Manage procurement contract kick-off and contract management, ensuring commercial and technical requirements are understood, agreed, and achieved.
  • Ensure export/import compliance for associated supplies, in conjunction with the MTS Trade Compliance department.
  • Maintain procurement data on systems, including ERP, to support accurate supplier, contract, and bid management.
  • Ensure all activities comply with company policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage the order book and execute requisitions to proactively support project schedule adherence.
  • Provide commodity management and expertise for appointed commodity areas, enabling a strong understanding of supply chain risks, opportunities, and cost to support the business in mitigating overall supply chain risk.
  • Attend/support internal meetings as required, including project updates, bid gate reviews, procurement department, planning, etc.
  • Manage and drive visibility of supplier performance metrics and management/improvement plans with relevant suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Contract and supplier management skills.
  • Supply chain principles and techniques.
  • Understanding of stock ordering systems and ordering models.
  • Experience of outsourcing supply management.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills (written, oral, and presentation).
  • Previous experience in using ERP systems.
  • Competency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work positively and collaboratively with the wider stakeholder community, both internal and external.
